Haircut

Sara had her first "official" haircut before school started. I, of course, forgot my camera but I did have my cell phone. It has a camera on it and I've taken a few pictures with it, but I've never taken the time to figure out how to "get" those pictures out of the phone. Well, I actually figured it out and it wasn't even hard! Imagine that!

Sara was a backseat stylist...like a backseat driver. She would say stuff like "that looks like a lot of hair falling" and "this is just a trim, right?" No tears and her little curls are as springy as ever!

School Days

The Kolmetz girls have gone back to school! Last Monday was Emma's first day of 1st grade, Sara's Kindergarten orientation and mine too!

Dropping off Emma on her first day in Mrs. Parker's Paradise!

Modeling her new uniform colors before school. Sorry the pics are out of order but I don't think it really matters right now.

Sara's first day of Kindergarten...with Emma posing too.

Single pose picture!

This full week of school has been tiring for all of us. Don't know about the girls, but I'm looking forward to the weekend so I can get my thoughts together and breathe for a bit.

Can't wait til our routine is down pat and things settle down around here!

Update!

Just Add Water

Water Adventures!

We went on a visit to Grana's house while Grandaddy was off in Haiti. While we were there, we visited the "water park."

For a free water park in the parking lot of a strip mall...it was very nice!

Chillin out in Grandma and Grandpa's pool.

We're at the tail end of two weeks of swimming lessons. The girls have progressed a lot from the first day...I wasn't sure they would go down the ladder, much less get their faces wet!

We stopped for Frosty's after a successful first week of lessons.

Sara enjoyed her Frosty too!

Our final lesson is on Friday so we're planning on a new treat...Blizzards!

Church Spring Musical

Beach Day

Since the thunder is rumbling off in the distance this afternoon, I thought I would post some of the pics we took last week during a sunny visit to the beach.

Ready to hit the beach!

And they're off!

The waves were pretty rough and there was a ton of algae in the water.

Here are some of the friends that met us at the beach. We had 4 mom's, 7 kids, 2 umbrellas, 1 beach tent, 1 wagon, 4 coolers, numerous towels and too many beach toys to count!

You can see that this crew stayed pretty close to the shore on this windy morning.

They all pretty much settled into a castle making routine after getting beat up by the surf. I'm sure we'll make it out to the beach again but I hope the day will be calmer out on the water!

Preschool Graduation!

Congratulations to Sara Grace!
Sara and her classmates preparing for a singing number.

Ms. Georgia, was almost knocked to the stage as Sara ran to get her diploma.

Here's the big girl moving her tassel from one side to another.

Ending the night with the Little Lambs Preschool Chant!

Watch out Kindergarten! Here comes Sara!

Belated Birthday Pics!

The girls had their first "big" birthday party this year at Pump It Up. They've attended several parties there and both wanted to have their turn. We decided that turning 6 and 5 would be a good milestone for a party with friends.

This was the part that Sara was looking forward to most. She's been in awe of her friends sitting in the huge inflatable throne, not to mention the crown and scepter. She loved every minute in that chair! Emma enjoyed it too.

Crazy picture with most of the party people!

Birthday Twins!

Enjoying cake and ice cream. The girls got to eat while sitting on their throne.

Watch out people! Present time!

Everybody wanted to see all the goodies!

Two Field Days

Field Day #1: Monday

Mrs. Wittkopf's Winning Eagles vs. the rest of Kindergarten!

Emma, Kerri and Mrs. Sellers after the girls winning water relay race!

Emma and Ana relaxing before their next event.

Water noodle relay! Look at the teamwork displayed here!

Best part of the morning: freezer pops!

Field Day #2: Wednesday

This was the first maybe-annual Little Lambs Field Day. It was pretty hot, but thankfully, I had about a dozen umbrellas in the van so the kids in Sara's class could keep out of the sun. The games consisted of various relay races and tug of war...during which the rope broke just as the tugging started. The kids didn't really know what to make of it!

Easter 2011

I know Easter was last month, but I wanted to share a few pictures anyway. Since Pre-School is over for me, I can hopefully get caught up quickly!

The weekend before Easter, we went to an Easter Celebration at church.

Picking up butterflies...I understand the symbolism but I really wish we could just have an egg hunt!

Frosting butterfly sugar cookies.

The Saturday before Easter, we colored our own Easter eggs.

Emma used a crayon to write on the eggs before we dyed them.

Sara enjoying the rainbow of eggs!

Easter Morning!

Before church in the house...

and before church outside.

After church, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch and egg hunting.

Action shot!

Plotting her attack.

Relaxing by the pond after the hunt.

Sara is happy with her haul of eggs.

Marcus had to leave before we did so he could sing in the choir. We left church before he did, so we weren't able to get a family picture in our Sunday best. Here we are in Easter casual wear!

Happy Easter!
He has risen!
