Water noodle relay! Look at the teamwork displayed here!

Best part of the morning: freezer pops!

Field Day #2: Wednesday

This was the first maybe-annual Little Lambs Field Day. It was pretty hot, but thankfully, I had about a dozen umbrellas in the van so the kids in Sara's class could keep out of the sun. The games consisted of various relay races and tug of war...during which the rope broke just as the tugging started. The kids didn't really know what to make of it!

Easter 2011

I know Easter was last month, but I wanted to share a few pictures anyway. Since Pre-School is over for me, I can hopefully get caught up quickly!

The weekend before Easter, we went to an Easter Celebration at church.

Picking up butterflies...I understand the symbolism but I really wish we could just have an egg hunt!

Frosting butterfly sugar cookies.

The Saturday before Easter, we colored our own Easter eggs.

Emma used a crayon to write on the eggs before we dyed them.

Sara enjoying the rainbow of eggs!

Easter Morning!

Before church in the house...

and before church outside.

After church, we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house for lunch and egg hunting.

Action shot!

Plotting her attack.

Relaxing by the pond after the hunt.

Sara is happy with her haul of eggs.

Marcus had to leave before we did so he could sing in the choir. We left church before he did, so we weren't able to get a family picture in our Sunday best. Here we are in Easter casual wear!

Happy Easter!
He has risen!

Busy Middle of May

I've got lots of pictures and videos on my memory cards from this month and it's only the 15th! Here is just a sample of what we've been up to and I hope to do each activity justice by giving each it's own post.

Impromptu Photo Session

On the way into church one Sunday, I noticed that I still had my camera in my purse. I thought this would be the perfect time to take a few pictures. Maybe I might get lucky and get some great pictures!

"Why do we have to stand here?"

"The sun is in my eyes!"

"This bush is poking me."

"Here's my best pose."

"Can we go now?"

Oh, well. Better luck next time!

March

The month of March was a busy one. We had school activities, spring break, and the start of Marcus' softball season. We (Marcus and I) planned to surprise the girls with a trip to Disney during spring break. We were really good and didn't spill the beans, even though we both had close calls a few times. We got the girls up on Sunday morning, dropped the dog off at Grandma and Grandpa's and told the girls we were going on a drive.

We even had the video camera ready and captured their faces as we drove under the Welcome to the Walt Disney World Resort sign. They were extremely excited but worried that we hadn't brought any extra panties or night gowns. After parking at the resort and showing the girls the back of the van full of suitcases (we had covered it with a blanket so they wouldn't see anything during the trip), they were more than ready to go!
The girls enjoying their beautiful leis.

Mommy and Daddy even remembered to pack their Minnie Mouse ears...creatively modeled here by Sara Grace.

After getting everything settled in the room, we made our way to the Magic Kingdom. The park was open until 3am that night, or should I say morning, so we were ready to ride a lot! We rode Small World, the carousel, Pirates of the Caribbean, Aladdin 's carpets, and the Jungle Cruise. Then we stopped for that idyllic family moment while watching the fireworks display. After the fireworks, we started making our way through Fantasyland on our way to Peter Pan...and that's when it happened.

Sara threw up right beside Columbia Harbor House. Thankfully there was a custodial castmember nearby and a bathroom. Marcus and Emma didn't realize what happened and were already practically in line. So instead of riding all night long, we went back to our hotel...with the hope that it was just "one of those things."

Before "it" happened.

Not only did we surprise the girls with a trip, but we also planned to met up with our friends Scott and Becky and their 3 little girls the next morning. All five of the little girls were excited to see each other and we ventured off into the Magic Kingdom once again. The above is a picture of Sara, Abby and Blake playing in the queue for Winnie the Pooh.

And then..."it" happened again. So, Marcus alerted a cast member that we had an accident on aisle 5 and I ran with Sara to the closest bathroom. Meanwhile, Emma rode Winnie the Pooh and had a fabulous time.

I took Sara back to the hotel room and Emma and Marcus stayed with our friends and rode a few more rides.

And this is what Sara did...for pretty much the next two days. She slept either in that chair or on her bed and wouldn't eat a thing.

Long story short, we ended up leaving a day early and we drove home with a garbage can between Sara's legs. What a trip!

Funny thing is, Abby ended up getting sick in the same area that Sara did later that night. Guess they both had the "Disney virus!"

In other news...

We took in the sights and sounds of the Waller Elementary carnival last Friday with Grandma, Grandpa, MawMaw, and PawPaw. Cousins Cooper and James, along with Aunt Lauren and Uncle Brandon, came too.

Emma's school carnival is tomorrow so I'll be sure to take my camera along!

We had a lot of rain on Monday, so the girls played in the moat at the end of our driveway. Emma was wet up to her knees and Sara was wet up to her rear end!

Happy April!

For some reason Blogger's spell check isn't working right now, so please excuse any misspellings!
