The girls looked so cute in their new blue dresses, coats and hats that Daddy had to take a picture of them with his new birthday camera. Don't you love the way Emma is posing? You might be seeing this face on our Christmas card...minus the red eye, of course! Well, what can I say...Sara likes to lick the backdoor windows. She doesn't care if it's from the inside or the outside. Daddy happened to be working on the computer while we were playing on the deck. He heard some knocking on the door and turned around to see this little face! What a perfect picture moment. We can't wait to show it to her when she gets older!
Emma wore the "Give Thanks" necklace she got in MOPPETS at church. Sara takes a little spin before Thanksgiving dinner. The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade better watch out! Here comes the Emma Parade! Sara decided to "chill out" while eating. There's nothing like leaning back with your hands behind your head while your grandmother feeds you turkey! Now that's the life! Emma had a "happy plate" after eating up all her dinner. She preceded to sing the "Happy Plate" song for everyone at the table. Emma commented that, "This Thanksgiving is so good!" She also declared that the pumpkin pie was beautiful. We hope you had a beautiful, so good Thanksgiving too!
I asked Emma what she wanted to dress up for Halloween and she said a Pumpkin Princess. I've never seen one and I'm not sure where she has seen one, but here is Emma the Pumpkin Princess! You can barely see the tiara on top of her head. It is really pretty and has a comb to help it stay in place. Since Emma's hair is so fine, it wouldn't stay on. It kept coming off and she thought it was hilarious...and so did Sara. There goes the tiara! You can see it in front of her orange skirt. I'm just glad she thought is was funny and didn't cry about it! Here is our Fairy Princess, Sara Grace. We didn't realize until we took off her outfit that it really irritated her soft little skin. Poor little thing! So, whole time she had it on she was very grumpy. Sometime during the evening she became the Grumpy Fairy. Grumpy, but still cute as ever! Here we are at the Fall Festival at church. Sara was very grumpy at this point (we were on our why out when I realized we hadn't taken any pictures) and Emma was very confused. She loves going to church but couldn't quite understand why she couldn't go to her Sunday School classroom, why it was dark, why we were outside and why all the people looked so silly. I'm sure it will go better next year! Here's hoping!
Marcus designed our pumpkins this year...freehand! Pretty talented guy! We had a beautiful sunset Monday night. I thought the colors went well with the pumpkins!
We took a little trip to the Pumpkin Patch this afternoon. I love what the sign says..."When Pumpkin Patch is closed, God is watching." When we drove up Emma said, "I love the pum-kin patch!" The girls really enjoyed it and they both cried when we had to leave!
The other day I saw Emma doing something I couldn't figure out. I asked her what she was doing and she replied, "I'm ironing my letters." She names the letter and then "irons" it with this nail brush she found. It's very imaginative and a learning game at the same time! Meanwhile, Sara was busy talking on her Minnie Mouse cell phone. Boy, our phone bills are going to be steep in a few years! Saturday morning the girls enjoyed chasing the bubbles Daddy was blowing. Don't they look cute in their cheerleader outfits? Sara can't quite figure out this doggie in the backyard. She always goes up to him and pets his head and then bends over and looks into his eyes. I think she is wishing that McDuff would be that still so she could mess with him.
Sara had a very big day Wednesday. She feel down and bumped her lip (a little blood, which made this Mommy's heart stop), put her hand in McDuff's water dish and then licked her hand (I don't know how she got in the laundry room so quickly!), used a small table in her room to catapult herself onto the twin bed in her room (that table has since been removed), took Mommy's hair brush (which Emma used on McDuff), and she took my laundry basket and turned it into a boat (which I didn't mind at all).

As you can see, Emma wasn't feeling her best Wednesday. Her allergies were giving her a little problem but she is back to her old self and, thankfully, Sara has settled down since her big adventure day!
Emma has started "riding" her tricycle again. She hasn't really gotten the hang of it just yet but she does have her moments of forward propulsion. Before getting on her bike, she spent a lot of time collecting "little coconutsh" (acorns to you and me) and putting them in her "bass-kit."Sara decided she should help Emma, so she would push her backwards until she ran into something (like the deck railing) and then pull her forward again. It was like watching baby bumper cars!
Sara really enjoys watching the pinwheels. Unfortunately, she also still likes tasting them, too. I will be so happy when she grows out of this "everything in her mouth" phase! Yesterday she put a leaf in her mouth, made a face, and then spit it out. Hopefully she learned a lesson, but I doubt it! I bought a ball at Wal-Mart because it was on sale for only $1! I couldn't pass up such a great deal! I guess I should have read the packaging a little better because it ended up being "the ball that ate Lynn Haven!" I took both me and Marcus to blow it up and Emma was sweet enough to help us out after our lungs collapsed!
We spent the morning at Pump It Up today. For those of you who have never been, it's like an inflatable playground. Our MOPS group reserved the facility this morning so it wasn't too crowded, which was perfect for our first visit. I like this nice action shot of Emma jumping in amongst all the different balls. Sara, on the other hand, was a little more cautious. That really surprised me since she seems to be the little daredevil at home. Emma and I took a turn going down the big slide. It was quite a trek to get up the thing on the "stairs" you can see to the right of the picture. Those stairs are basically little speed bumps so you don't slip off. The slide is at a pretty steep angle and I was trying to use my hand as some sort of braking system. It didn't really work. As you can see, I am very relieved that we both made it down safely! Thanks to Jen for capturing this moment for us!
Meanwhile, Sara enjoyed just trying to get up the ramp to the "stairs."

Sara has really started to use a lot more words in the last few weeks. She repeats a lot of what she hears and now will label items on her own. She brought me a shoe the other day and said, "a shoe." Pretty soon she and Emma will be carrying on conversations! Notice that Sara repeats every word I ask her to except Mama. It seems to be a little game with her. She will only say Mama or Mommy if I'm not in the room. I've only heard her slip up and say it a few times. Anytime I ask her to say Mama, she says Daddy or Baby. Toddler jokes are so silly!

Emma and Sara enjoyed splashing around on the deck Friday afternoon. Saturday morning brought playtime in the sandbox. Even though the girls couldn't watch the game (past their bedtimes) they still wanted to show support for their team. War Eagle! Saturday afternoon was the inaugural "swim" in the new Kolmetzwater park. Thanks to Daddy for blowing the thing up! We found that even though they liked the new pool, they liked being hosed down even more!
Emma got to help Grana bake some biscuits Monday morning. She had her own bowl of buttermilk and flour that she got to mix up all by herself! She even tasted it but she wouldn't recommend that. While the real biscuits were baking in the top oven, the girls got to help Grana put the biscuit Emma made in the bottom (cold) oven. Watch out, Sara Lee! Emma and Sara Grace brand biscuits will be hitting the grocery shelves soon!
Sara has started enjoying coloring with Emma. After this picture was taken, she chewed up the end of the orange crayon. Emma kept saying, "Sawa put it in her mouff! Sawa put it in her mouff!" We've introduced the potty to Emma but she's not very interested in using it herself. She is enjoying trying to potty train her Mickey Mouse though. She even praises him and claps for him afterwards. This also goes for anyone who comes out of one of our bathrooms. The other day Emma said, "Yea, Daddy go to the potty!" Sara continues to enjoy eating. She really likes to put the food in her mouth all by herself. Someone has to poke the food onto the fork but she is getting there!
Emma and Sara have been practicing their "War Eagle" cheer for quite some time with the help of their parents and both sets of grandparents. The girls have also really enjoyed listening to their "Aubie" music, which is a CD of the Auburn band playing the fight song and various cheers. This morning Emma was asked to say "War Eagle" and instead she started in on singing the fight song! I was stunned! She has heard me sing it but I didn't know she knew it! I was AUsome! Ha ha! I will try my best to get this on video!
I don't remember why the girls got into my huge L.L. Bean bag in the first place, but they enjoyed sitting in it...until it started tipping over! Sara has learned a new trick and she is quite proud of herself. She can now get up into most any chair, couch or coffee table in our house! She likes to stand up once she gets on the couch and doesn't seem to understand why all this is really stressing Mommy out! We played a rousing game of throw the ball into the clothes hamper the other day. Sara didn't really want to throw it in the hamper so she just threw it anywhere she wanted. The Next Dream Team!
