ESCAPE!!!

This morning I put Emma in her Bumbo in the hallway near the laundry room so I could iron Marcus' shirt. I turned to talk to her and all I see is her little lavender bottom crawling into the kitchen! I thought I must not have put her in there correctly, so I put her back and got my camera just in case she did it again. I continued ironing and talking to Emma when I caught her pushing herself out again! I was able to catch the little Houdini escaping this time. I told Marcus about it and we put her back in the Bumbo and watched her for a good five minutes...she wouldn't move! Guess she didn't want her Daddy to see her doing something naughty. No more putting Emma in the Bumbo on the kitchen island while I cook supper, even though I probably shouldn't have been doing it anyway.
Tell your friends, alert the media! The Bumbo is no longer a safe haven for Emma!

Getting Ready for Sara Grace

Here are some pictures of Sara Grace's room. Yes...we have finally chosen a name and we promise not to change it...unless "she" turns out to be a "he!" This is the border and wall color in Sara's room. You can't tell, but the wall color is a very soft lavender. As soon as all the furniture is in place, I'll post a finished room pic!

What is a baby to do when her Grandpa rides a Harley and her Grandaddy owns a Honda/Yamaha dealership? Guess Grandaddy will have to be on the lookout for a baby Honda t-shirt!

I thought I would go through the instructions for leaving a comment on the Blog. After putting pictures and news online, I really enjoy coming back and seeing what everyone has to say. So here goes...it's really easy, so please leave comments if you haven't been already! I'm also a little curious to see who is checking in on the site. 1. After reading an entry, go to the bottom of that entry and hit the word "comment." 2. Write what you would like in the "leave a comment" section. 3. Then choose an identity, which would be "other." 4. Leave your name and then hit "publish your comment." Thank you! I look forward to reading what everyone has to say.

What Are They Looking At?

As everyone knows, Emma is very taken with McDuff. She spends quite a lot of her crawling time trying to follow him around the house. The poor doggy is just trying to get a minute of peace and quiet! Emma has now added "pulling up" to her long list of skills. Sometimes pulling up in her crib and laughing really loud is much more fun than taking the nap that Mama would like her to take. Anyway...yesterday she started pulling up using the glass on the French doors. I caught a picture of these bosom buddies looking out in the backyard. Too cute!
In other Emma news, she is cutting her third tooth! I noticed something white on her top gum while I was changing her diaper this morning. Very exciting.
Gran and Grandma: Pictures have been added to Shutterfly!
We are getting closer to a new baby name. We have pretty much decided that Grace will be her middle name. We'll keep you updated as best we can!

What Emma's Really Been Up To...courtesy of Aunt Beth

Watch out New York! It's Emma Kong!
Emma's been climbing more than just the sides of her crib.

Emma enjoys a little peace and quiet in her boat. Hope that thing doesn't sink!

Thanks to Aunt Beth for searching the world to find out what Emma has really been up to during nap time. She's racking up the frequent flyer miles!

Where in the world is Emma Kolmetz?

More Pics From Gran's House

Grass is very prickly.

I don't think I like this...but those are pretty flowers.

And We're Back

Emma and Mommy had a very nice visit last weekend with Gran while Grandaddy was away. We did lots of fun things like napping, scrapbooking and shopping. Gran and Mommy even put a stroller together that didn't fall apart in the middle of the mall. When Grandaddy got back, he taught Emma about the wonderful world of waffles...or as Grandaddy says wauffles. Enjoy the pics!

Guess what Mommy! Grandaddy gave me some of his waffle, but he didn't put any butter or cane syrup on it. It's really good without it!
Why are you feeding yourself waffle? I thought you loved me!
I'll just grab it myself, thank you very much!I am quite satisfied with my breakfast this morning. It's much better than that oatmeal and fresh fruit my parents have been feeding me. I'm ready for the Waffle House!

Stop the Presses!

Don't run out to get anything engraved or monogrammed just yet. We are reconsidering the new baby's name since Anna is so close to Emma. We'll keep you posted!

Big Girl Update

Emma went to her 9 month well baby check-up today.
She weights 20 pounds and is 28 inches tall. She has gained
14 pounds and 8 inches since she was born. She is growing so fast!
The doctor said we can start weaning her off of formula to whole milk
because she herhemoglobin count was great. All that means is that she
is not anemic, which is a good thing. Pretty soon Emma will be getting
all her liquids fromthe sippy cup. Oh goodness! Giving up
those bottles just in time for little sister!
In other big girl news, we have gotten the okay to get
Emma a new car seat! Daddy was so excited that he
is going to go afterwork and pick one up at Toys R Us.
It just so happens that they are having a big sale this
month which includes car seats! Marcus is excited that
she will be able to see where she is going instead of just
where she has been!
In little girl news, Emma's sister now has a first name. Yeah! Keep checking back
to see what we have come up for her middle name.
Anna _____________ Kolmetz
The following suggestions have been submitted. Feel free to add your
suggestion in the comments section!

Emma Shows Off

Gran came over to play with Emma while Mommy went to
the doctor. Emma showed off her new skill to Gran, who was
quite impressed!

Houston, We Have Crawler!

WARNING!!! Pick up your valuables! Emma is mobile! Emma knows there has to be a way to get to that
remote!

Look at Emma go!
Emma was quite pleased with herself and so were we!
Thank goodness Marcus got the whole thing on video.
Emma can finally get to the elusive remote. I guess
she doesn't want to watch the Food Network anymore.
Crawling was the answer!

Grandma was excited too!

Eating with Emma

Marcus was so excited to feed Emma his favorite vegetable,
spinach. As the following pictures show, we're not sure it's
going to be one of Emma's favorites anytime soon.
Emma's exact words were, "What was that?!"
I promise Emma was not harmed in the eating of the
spinach. She got some on her hand and then decided to
rub her eyes. We think she was trying to tell us she would
rather take a nap than eat more spinach.
After washing the spinach off of her face,
Emma decided she would go through the Publix Wednesday ad
and pick out something she might like more than spinach.

Emma's New Talents

Cousin Rachel gets a wave and a thank you for
the cute dancing heart shirt. Emma is even showing
off her bottom teeth in this shot!
Emma has replaced the "shaking her head no" phase for
the clapping phase. Everything and everyone deserves a clap!

Emma Gets What She Wants

Even though Emma can't crawl yet, she is
able to get what she wants...and on this
particular day, she wants some of the toys
out of her toy basket.
Where there's a will, there's a way! Crawling is just around
the corner!

Fun with Bananas

Thanks to Gran's friend Becky Smith, Emma got to
experience banana's sucked through mesh.
Even though something yummy came out of this contraption,
Emma's still not sure what to think about it.
Once she got the hang of it, Emma enjoyed sucking the life out of that poor banana.

Now that she's done, how do we clean this thing?
Any suggestions? I washed it by hand and then ran it
through the dishwasher and there is still banana stuck in it.

This is the "Memama Pink Cake" that I took to Mops this morning.
It was very well received and I think Memama would have approved the change
in shape for this occasion. I promise to continue the Christmas tradition of the
"pink cake." I'm sure that is one of the unwritten rules of being a Susan, Susie or Sue.
F.Y.I. Marcus would like to report that the cake looked
better in person and tasted better than it looks in this picture.

Emma is all ready to go to Mops! The big bib certainly comes in handy with all the drool she's been producing lately!
