Cookin' Up and Playin' Up a Storm!

Poor bay (that's what Sara calls her blanket) must have needed to cool off! Sara was busy alternating bay's location from the refrigerator to the oven of the little kitchen. I've heard of people putting towels in the dryer to warm them up, but never the oven! Emma has really enjoyed cooking in the kitchen too. She makes lots of strawberry tea. She will put a plastic strawberry in a tea cup and then fill it with hot water from her teapot. She also really likes washing her hands in the sink. She also complains about having to wash the dishes. Wonder where she's heard that? Isn't her apron cute?
We had a great jam session the other night. Daddy played his guitar with accompaniment from Emma and Sara.
Sara and Daddy decided to switch instruments. I don't know if they will be getting a recording contract anytime soon, but it was a joyful noise for sure!
Sara got up close and personal with the pink guitar ("gek-car" in Emma-ease).

January Update!

We've been having some chilly and rainy weather lately. The girls have been stuck inside for the last few days, but we were able to go to the park Tuesday afternoon. Emma and Sara continue to love to swing!
Emma loves taking care of her pet puppy, Bella. She enjoyed taking her for a walk at the park. Emma seems to have a great imagination and can play with just about anything. She was using her cup and her bowl this morning to talk to each other.
Sara continues to be an adventurous toddler. She climbed up the steps to the slide all by herself and then proceeded to crawl up the tube to the big slide. I'm sure the other people at the park enjoyed seeing me crawling up the tube after her and pulling her out by her pants.
Emma has started walking in her Daddy's Birkenstocks on occasion. She's also very interested in putting on her own shoes and socks. The other day she was pouting and I asked her what was wrong. She said, "I can't wead (read) and I not happy!" We started extensive phonics and letter recognition training that afternoon! Just kidding!
Emma has also graduated to what we call a "princess bed." She's been sleeping on a regular twin mattress and box springs placed on the floor for a few months now. We had to put it up on the bed frame this weekend because little sister Sara kept getting on it and jumping up and down. She continues to be very fast! Now, poor little Sara can't lift her little leg high enough to even hope of getting on the bed by herself.

Emma has loved playing with her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. I over heard her say, "Come on...let's go. Let's be sweet!" Wonder where she has heard that!

Get your motor runnin'. Pretty hard to do on grass so Daddy had to come and push her!

Poor little Sara Gracie! She fell asleep while I was making her sandwich...no, it didn't take me long to make it. She was just so tired! She looks so sweet it her Auburn sweats! She was just resting up for the big game!

Bright and early Christmas morning, Grandma, Grandpa, Aunt Lolli and Uncle Brandon came by to exchange presents. Emma looks on as Grandpa opens his Grumpy mug.
This is our family Christmas pic this year. I wanted to get one when the girls had on their pretty plaid outfits later on in the day, but Sara got sick all over her dress! There's always next year and this pic really shows how great we all felt! Not!
Emma took some time out from unwrapping presents to lay on the couch with Grandma.

Later on at Grana and Grandaddy's house, Sara got a shopping cart full of her favorite friends...Pooh, Tigger, Piglet and Eeyore!

It's Our 100th Post!

We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas. We are looking forward to next Christmas because all of the Kolmetz Family were sick this year! We had two ear infections, one allergy attack, two parents who thought they wouldn't live through the stomach flu and one baby who started it all of by christening our van (twice)! We feel like the Grinch came by our house and stole our Christmas fun! Through it all Marcus reminded me that, even though we were as sick as dogs, we were celebrating Jesus' birth and not to worry about all the "other stuff" we didn't get to do because that's not what matters. We were blessed to spend Christmas with both of our families. I don't know if our presence was a blessing to them though...Sara got sick at both Christmas Eve dinner (at Marcus' parents house) and Christmas Day dinner(at my parent's house). Emma waited until Christmas Day snack! We have joked that we should have made up t-shirts that say "We Survived Christmas 2007!"

We moved our tree between the foyer and the living room so Sara wouldn't be able to roam all over the house. We were afraid she would want to climb up the tree but, for the most part, she left it alone.
We had a small Disney tree in the kitchen this year. The girls really enjoyed looking at it at breakfast and lunch!
We also put a new tree in our room. It was inspired by the Grand Floridian resort, where we spend our honeymoon. We never found a star that had the right Victorian feel to it so the top remained bare this year. It won't be long until merchants will have all the Christmas stuff out again and we can start a new search!

Poor Emma spent Christmas Eve in Grandma's chair watching Mickey's Twice Upon a Christmas...one of her favorites! Her poor little eyes were so swollen!

Santa left Emma a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse and some other great toys and books.

Sara got a tricycle from Santa, along with lots of other treats!

Dancing and Coloring!

Emma loves to dance just like June from the Little Einstein's.

Sara really loves to color and sit in Emma's chair. She's also learning new words everyday!

Baby Bakers

Emma loves to cook! She loves watching Paula Deen and Rachael Ray so I knew she would really like to help bake Christmas cookies this year. I thought we would start out small and use some pre-packaged cookie dough. Emma was in charge of sprinkles!

I think she really enjoyed wearing Mommy's apron. Doesn't she look proud of herself?

Emma didn't like the fact the the cookies weren't done instantly. She got a little upset when they had to go in the oven. When they came out she said, "The cookies all better now?"

Sara thought the cookies needed a little more color but she was still able to eat it.

Later on in the afternoon, I got ambitious and let the girls help with the spritz cookies (the ones that go in a cookie gun). Sara looked on and helped us count the cups of sugar, flour and teaspoons of vanilla. Emma helped hold the mixer and was in charge of telling me when we needed more green food coloring to make the perfect Christmas trees.

Today I hope to tackle cowboy cookies!

Christmas Is A Coming!

Look who found his way to the manger! It's Leo, from the Little Einsteins! A few days ago, I went into Emma's room and she had all the nativity scene animals on the lid of her dirty clothes hamper. You never know who are what you are going to find around here!Emma enjoyed watching herself dance in the "Elfed" video. I've put a video of Emma watching it on my last post. I just hope it's not a "copyright enfringement." What a pretty pose!

Beautiful Girls in Blue and a French Door

The girls looked so cute in their new blue dresses, coats and hats that Daddy had to take a picture of them with his new birthday camera. Don't you love the way Emma is posing?
You might be seeing this face on our Christmas card...minus the red eye, of course!
Well, what can I say...Sara likes to lick the backdoor windows. She doesn't care if it's from the inside or the outside. Daddy happened to be working on the computer while we were playing on the deck. He heard some knocking on the door and turned around to see this little face! What a perfect picture moment. We can't wait to show it to her when she gets older!

Sara decided to "chill out" while eating. There's nothing like leaning back with your hands behind your head while your grandmother feeds you turkey! Now that's the life!
Emma had a "happy plate" after eating up all her dinner. She preceded to sing the "Happy Plate" song for everyone at the table. Emma commented that, "This Thanksgiving is so good!" She also declared that the pumpkin pie was beautiful. We hope you had a beautiful, so good Thanksgiving too!

Too Cute to Spook!

I asked Emma what she wanted to dress up for Halloween and she said a Pumpkin Princess. I've never seen one and I'm not sure where she has seen one, but here is Emma the Pumpkin Princess! You can barely see the tiara on top of her head. It is really pretty and has a comb to help it stay in place. Since Emma's hair is so fine, it wouldn't stay on. It kept coming off and she thought it was hilarious...and so did Sara.
There goes the tiara! You can see it in front of her orange skirt. I'm just glad she thought is was funny and didn't cry about it!
Here is our Fairy Princess, Sara Grace. We didn't realize until we took off her outfit that it really irritated her soft little skin. Poor little thing! So, whole time she had it on she was very grumpy. Sometime during the evening she became the Grumpy Fairy.

Here we are at the Fall Festival at church. Sara was very grumpy at this point (we were on our why out when I realized we hadn't taken any pictures) and Emma was very confused. She loves going to church but couldn't quite understand why she couldn't go to her Sunday School classroom, why it was dark, why we were outside and why all the people looked so silly. I'm sure it will go better next year! Here's hoping!
