Easter 2010

In an effort to please our fans, here are our Easter pictures!

The girls had a great time at the Resurrection Celebration at church. After a group sing-a-long, each age group of children were set loose in a different room to search for butterflies. The girls were able to find a bunch!

After the butterfly hunt, different stations had been set up so the children could participate in a variety of different activities. Here Emma is having fun decorating butterfly cookies.

The girls also make butterfly mosaic magnets with Bible verses on them.

My favorite was "Bowling for Roman Soldiers." After a Bible story, the girls were given a ball to send down the alley to knock down the soldiers. Cute idea!

We also dyed Easter eggs. I boiled them way too long so they didn't turn out exactly right but the girls didn't notice. They had a great time anyway.

After church and Easter dinner, the children were let loose at Grandma and Grandpa's house to hunt for eggs. Here is Sara's action shot!

Cooper, Emma and Sara relaxed on the swing set after gathering up all the eggs.

Spring Break started next day, so the girls and I headed over to Grana and Grandaddy's house for more egg hunting.

A trip to Grana and Grandaddy's is never complete without a shopping outing to the mall and a ride on the carousel!

I know, I know...it's been awhile. I can't blame my lack of posts on technical difficulties or even a lack of photo taking opportunities. Someone around here has been too lazy to connect her camera to her computer! That, ladies and gentlemen, would be me! I promise Easter pictures this week!

Sara's Thoughts on Her New Pigtails

Oh bother...I can't believe what my mother has done to me this time.

I can't understand why she is so excited by this new look of mine anyway. If she hadn't distracted me with chicken nuggets, this would have never happened! Oh the power those nuggets have over me!

Just look at me! She didn't even get my part straight! Oh, well. I might let her play with my hair again but she'll have to sweeten the deal with some french fries!

February Photos

Thought I would post a few pictures from this month before it is over!

R is for rainbow! Sara's class made rainbow streamers and had a little parade through the hallway. I was able to hang my head out of my classroom and grab my camera just in time to catch a picture!

No, this is not Martha Washington hugging Mickey Mouse...it's Emma! Grandma and Grandpa bought the girls these colonial dust caps in Williamsburg last summer (I think) and now Emma has to wearing her "sleeping hat" to bed every night!

Spring picture day was yesterday so the girls wore their Sunday best! The staff members at school pulled Emma out of class so that the girls could take a picture together. I can't wait to see the proofs in a few weeks! From what I heard, Sara was quite the ham!

Valentine's Day Fun

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything but we've been busy with school, church and various sicknesses that we keep passing around to each other.

Here are a few pictures I took yesterday after the girls had their Valentine Parties at school. Sugar rush, here we go!

Modeling with their Valentine bag and box. Sara decorated her bag at school and Emma had to decorate a box for her Valentines for homework. She had fun painting it and sticking on letter stickers.

I took hot pink cupcakes for my class to enjoy and we had enough leftover for our family to enjoy.
Note to self: DO NOT buy hot pink frosted cupcakes! The moms all thought their kids had some sort of rash around their mouths when they picked them up yesterday. I should have known better! My class was even able to get the frosting under the tables in our classroom. I have no idea how they did it but I do know that only Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would take it off. That hot pink coloring is potent!

On the upside, the hot pink does stain your lips for all day long lasting color!

What's a girl to do after consuming so much sugar? Go to sleep with a straw hat on, of course!

Snow Day

No, it's not real snow like the kind they are forecasting today for the area but it was a lot of fun! We had a snow day at school a few weeks ago and the kids really seemed to enjoy it. The snow was actually some kind of liquid soap that was shot through a machine with a fan so that it drifted around. I was able to catch a few pictures of Sara enjoying the snow before I took my class back into our classroom.

It's a New Year!

It's the middle of January and this is my first post of the year! And I thought December flew by! Oh well. I hope to post at least once a week but sometimes life and laundry get in the way.

Here are our first pictures of 2010.

Here is Emma's first attempt at riding her new "scooter." (I don't know why she calls it a scooter instead of a bike.) It took longer for her to put on her jacket and shoes that she actually spent outside. Marcus held the bike while I took a video of all the action. We knew it was over when Emma told us, "I need to go inside the house now!" It's been so cold that we haven't tried again but the weather is warming up a bit so we're hoping to get back out on the driveway soon!

Emma-rella/Cinder-emma has really enjoyed dressing up in her new princess accessories. She received the gloves, purse and necklace from Rachel and the fancy wig from MawMaw and PawPaw. Thank goodness we already had the dresses to match!

Yes, the girls have their princess dresses over their PJ's...it was cold! Sara had to join the fun with her Snow White Sara purse, gloves and necklace. She didn't have time (or patience) to put the wig on.

Uncle Brandon had a great idea for Grandma's birthday...a picture of the whole gang! Cheese!

This is what happens when someone (me) plays with the dials on her new camera and messes up the self-timer.

Grana and Grandaddy visited us the other day and took out some frustration while playing some Wii Resort games. They are playing a sword fighting game here and I needed photographic evidence for the insurance company just in case something happened to our TV. (They managed not to break anything but I've heard a report that a few people were sore the next day.)

Emma and Grandaddy played their own little special game of Scrabble. The rules were a little confusing since Emma kept changing them and the little letters would slide everywhere.

Quick Christmas Rewind

I know I've been a bad blogger lately so here is a quick rewind of December 2009.

We had a magical time at Disney and enjoyed lots of food, music, Christmas trees (and some whining).

Sara enjoyed her first "roller coaster" and took Daddy along for the ride.

The girls did a great job in the Christmas program at school. Emma was an angel (she was already out of costume by the time this picture was taken) and Sara was a reindeer.

The girls loved getting together with all of the Kolmetz family and taking turns at beating up on a poor pinata with the other great-grandkids.

We baked up a forest of Christmas tree cookies.

The girls tried to break Grandpa's knees on Christmas Eve.

Emma tried to ride her new bike into the fireplace...not really, but Marcus is a fine actor, right?

Sara became queen of her own mini-kingdom.

We gave Aunt Beth the ultimate gift...a Snuggie!

Sara went fishing with Grandaddy and the "big one" got away again. Maybe next time.

Beatles Rock Band came into our world and matching Barbie electric guitars. We're hearing lots of Girls Just Want to Have Fun and Yellow Submarine around here.
